JW Doane has an extensive background in the equipment industry, with over 12 years of experience in the rental sector. He held positions in sales and management at Sunbelt Rentals and Texas First Rentals, spending most of his time in management roles. This experience allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the industry and refine his skills in leading teams and driving operational success.
He then transitioned to the auction industry with IronPlanet, starting as a Business Analyst for GovPlanet. He was quickly promoted to Operations Manager of Government Services, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of an $84 million DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) contract for disposing of the U.S. military’s rolling stock. This role honed his skills in managing large-scale projects and delivering exceptional service.
Later, he shifted focus to equipment appraisal, beginning at Equify Auctions and continuing at bidadoo inc., where he gained approximately six years of valuable experience in the field.
On a personal note, he resides just south of Fort Worth, TX, with his wife of 19 years, Sarah. They have four children ranging from 15 to 19 years old. He enjoys all sports, especially getting out on the golf course and cheering for his son under the Friday night lights in Texas.
